General Motors Corp. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this morning in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Judge Robert E. Gerber has been assigned to preside over the case.
A copy of GM’s bankruptcy petition is available here. The petition listed approximately $82 billion in assets and $172 billion in liabilities. GM has also created a restructuring website where additional information for customers, suppliers, and others can be found.
